We are incredibly excited to announce the launch of a family office and investment bank – MEHTTA VENTURES DUBAI, sector agnostic for the most part, however with an emphasis on AI (including enterprise applications), media / sports / streaming, prop tech (including real estate), fin tech & direct to consumer startups and companies.

We are positioning ourselves as an investment bank focused on helping investors fulfil their alternative investment desires. 

 The company founders’ legacy and family history includes pioneering the diamond and jewelry industry in Palanpur and Mumbai – Viniit Mehta’s grandfather, Shantilal Mehta was instrumental in accelerating the growth of the diamond business between today’s world famous diamond cutting center, Surat and India’s financial capital, Mumbai from 1940 to the late 1970’s. Post that his extended family worked closely with De Beers to acquire diamonds, polish them and then distribute them not only in India but also across Europe including Belgium.

Viniit’s father Dr. Shailesh Mehta is one of Mumbai’s pre-eminent cardiologists and mother, Mrs. Suneeta Mehta is a leading psychotherapist.

Viniit, himself is a pioneer in the video streaming industry in India having run and sold his first startup which was streaming video and advertisements on screens at the back of taxis in urban India starting in the early days of 3G in 2011. Fast forward to 2017 and Viniit led the world’s largest video SaaS company Brightcove in India helping more than 100+ publishers, broadcasters, e-commerce giants, sports rights holders and startups leverage the best of streaming technologies, monetization and content distribution strategies. Currently, he advises several leading media and media tech companies including the likes of Endeavor Streaming, IMG and a few more.

All along a dynamic 20+ year career which started in the United States and continues today between Dubai and Mumbai, Viniit and his family have invested in, mentored and supported several startups across Media tech, health tech, e-commerce, fintech and more.

Viniit’s wife Tanvi, an instrumental part of Mehtta Ventures is an IBM certified Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning educator and trainer teaching the K-12 group of children to learn the fundamentals of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and coding. She is a mentor to students participating in global hackathons and competitions along with networking with tech industry leaders in the field. She also has a marketing and business development background with her family business (Trivedi Groupe). They are a market leader in the engineering aspects of the home and personal care industry along with being founding members of the Indian Home and Personal Care Industry association.

The investment thesis of the family is to partner with strong teams disrupting industries using technology + building moats and hard to replicate business dynamics / markets.

The traditional mindset of the family has been to build strong relationships with the companies they partner with and lead with empathy across the internal processes that they follow to work with all the stakeholders.

There is an underlying ethos of giving back to society and doing business which can have a significant positive impact on as many people as possible.
